Health Education and Promotion

Every day, the Community Health Education program is finding new ways to engage and serve the community. These efforts of are guided by the belief that our entire County benefits when people are healthy.

The Community Health Education staff can provide and support health and wellness education in communities stretching across the County.

Our program creates partnerships with community members through a wide variety of health and wellness programs, health talks and chronic disease management services. We work with community groups and organizations throughout the County to bring health education programs to all surrounding neighborhoods.

As a result, many individuals, of all ages, genders and ethnicities now have the knowledge to make positive health and wellness choices.

The Community Health Program provides health initiatives, education and resources to benefit all of Wakulla County. We also support the Wakulla County Tobacco-Free Partnership which promotes tobacco free environments through education, advocacy, and resources for quitting smoking.

The Community Health Education Program is designed around the needs and interests of any group. A Community Health Educator works with you to help identify your group’s areas of interest to design an exciting, specially tailored and interactive program.

Our health educators are committed to strengthening our community and making a positive difference in the lives of our neighbors and the communities we serve.

The Community Health Education Program gives community organizations as well as individuals in Wakulla County access to information about a wide variety of health and healthcare issues.  We welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge while providing an informative and thought-provoking program.

Presentations can be scheduled at group meetings, health fairs and school functions in Wakulla County. Educators can assist students looking for health related information.
