Birth and Death Certificates 

The Florida Department of Health in Wakulla County serves as a vital records office for birth and death certificates for the State of Florida.

A birth record search requires an advance payment of a NON-REFUNDABLE search fee of $13.00. You must apply IN PERSON with a valid photo identification.

Normal processing time is one business day (24 hours) provided the record and the application are complete and in order. Information you need to know and/or have, to apply for a birth or death certificate is as follows:

  • Florida birth certificates from 1930 to present date are available to print
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Photo ID required (driver's license, passport, military ID)
  • $13.00 fee (cash, check, money order, credit or debit card)

  • Florida death certificates from 2009 to present date are available to print. Death certificates prior to the year 2009 must be requested from the Vital Statistics Office in Jacksonville, FL
