Dr. Moffses Named Health Officer for DOH-Columbia and Hamilton Counties

Tallahassee - The Florida Department of Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Thomas Moffses Jr. as the Administrator for the Department of Health in Columbia and Hamilton Counties, effective March 21. Dr. Moffses will be responsible for overseeing all operations including planning, directing, developing and coordinating public health programs and activities. Previously, he served as an Emergency Management Planner for DOH-Columbia and DOH-Hamilton, a role he had held since 2017.

Tallahassee, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health (DOH) celebrates March as National Nutrition Month, which is sponsored annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This year’s theme is: "Go Further with Food." The campaign highlights the far-reaching benefits of making informed eating choices. Informed eating goes further than choosing the most nutritious options—eating choices can also conserve money, save time, and reduce food waste.
