The Department of Health in Wakulla County offers smoking cessation classes.
Tobacco Facts - Cigarette smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States.
Each day more than 3,450 young people between 12 and 17 years of age smoke their first cigarette and 850 become daily smokers.

SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco) is Florida's statewide youth organization working to mobilize, educate, and equip Florida youth to revolt against and deglamorize Big Tobacco. SWAT is a united movement of empowered youth working towards a tobacco free future.
Criteria to join:
- Be 11-17 years old or be in grades 6-12.
- Obtain parental consent to join.
- Complete registration.
- Have reliable transportation to SWAT county chapter meetings and events.
What youth gain by participating in SWAT

- Community service hours
- Media advocacy and outreach
- Research and data collection
- Community education
- Educate decision-makers
- Knowledge of the tobacco industry's deceitful marketing tactics
